After about a month in Canada, I’ve had the opportunity to paddle my All
Star
, a New FUN, and now a New 2 FUN on one of the best waves in the world:
Mini Bus! The New 2 FUN is the best boat I’ve been able to paddle on
Buseater in years of surfing it–fast, great carving, easy take-offs, whips
through the air effortlessly, and lands on the surface ready for the next
move. I love having a my-size boat that still has speed and doesn’t sub-out
on big landings. It makes every move easier!

The levels continue to make for incredible surfing here and it seems like
the higher it gets, the bigger we can go. Over the past week, I’ve been
working my offside airscrew (to the right), blunt-to-backstab combos both
ways, a few blunt-nastys, clean on-side airscrews, and a few attempts at
pan-am-to-mcnasty combos. Combine these body-beating surfing sessions with
hours of time getting my truck back together (almost there…timing belt
today), and I’ve been sleeping like a dead rock. Jen’s been nice enough to
loan me her truck during the day to paddle, then Moe and I are often in the
garage until 11:00 or midnight!

Enjoy the photos, they were shot by Moe Kelleher and Ben Frasier. I’ve been
BLOWN AWAY by the quality of this Canon 50mm F1.8 prime lens that I
picked-up…best $80 I’ve ever spent! Most of my recent photos are shot
with it.
