Hi EJ,

December 17th, 2006 Beaver Creek Falls, OR

The first time I saw this waterfall in a video, I’ve dreamed of running it. This 55-foot waterfall was given the name "The angry Beaver" (located on Beaver Creek, OR) by the Epicocity boys on the first descent. It was given its’ name because the EP boys walked away from this drop with similar events as us.

To make a long story short, we came away with two broken paddles, a smashed, bloody face (my poor Nate), a boof and a very scary ferry right above the falls with one of the already broken paddles.

Besides, what one of our friends called a "Clown Show", it was a super fun day. Sometimes the whole experience of kayaking isn’t the actual rapid or the river you paddle, but the events that unfold before, during and after. This was definately one of the more memorable hucking experiences I have had so far. I’m still laughing about it.

Once again, the Rocker performed to precision and because it’s so easy to roll, allowed me to roll up with only my one paddle blade and make it to shore . . . sweet!

Until the next big one,
Heather Herbeck
