Phil is one of the most fun people you can paddle with and an incredibly strong part of any team, whether it be for an expedition, or just a day run, or setting up camp. Phil has been a Grand Canyon Guide for many years, and also a guide in Chile’. Most of his life has been spent paddling remote rivers, living on the rivers edge, and taking care of others. On the Expedition in Mexico, Phil got the nick name “Daddy Phil” from Nick and Rafa, because Phil was so efficient in getting everyone working to set up camp, get the food going, and making sure that nobody got left behind. Unfortunately Phil hurt his back during the trip and had to bail before it ended. He took the hit like a trooper, but it clearly was a hard decision and a necessary one. After a month at home in rehab, he is back in action and headed for Chile’. Before he left, he sent me these photos from the trip… Thanks Phil!

🙂 EJ
