Hello all,

Nick arrived back in the 582 (Beachburg, Onatrio) in the afternoon of Dec 30th. I went to his house to have a Christmas dinner with he and his family. There he showed me his cool new present, the 2007 ALL-STAR! Then he gave me my present, the 2007 FUN. We took our presents to buseater the very next day! Man do those boats fly! We have been surfing buseater for four days now. The level is prime (16.5) and holding. The Ottawa has been unusually warm with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. There is still some snow on the ground and some ice will be found near the river banks.

The new All-star has been going off. Nick is paddling it very well on Minibus. Nick says,"I’ve never loved a kayak so much." It looks like quite a fast boat that pops well. Nick is the Canadian team captain and has been throwing down extra hard on bussy to prepare for Worlds. It looks like he couldn’tbe more set with the new boat. He has been consistently landing snappy bread’n’butters, lofty pan-ams and tons of flashbacks and back panams.

These have been my first few days in the Fun. Since the first ride i have loved it. It is a sweet all-around boat that rips it up playing! Very predictable and forgiving without compromising big-air ability. It has a hull that is symmetrical bow-to-stern so dropping down the wave backwards is as comfortable as doing it forwards. I am never worried about catching any of my edges after landing hard from a big trick. It is my new favourite kayak.

Here are some pictures from the first day we paddled. A video of the week will be posted very soon!

Joel
