Hey guys,
I need to write a long over due update for my spring trip to california. But I finally got the pictures off my new camera and wanted to at least send these out. So the bulk of the story will come later. Briefly, my college kayaking buddies Leif and Dave and I had a super-memorable trip down to Northern California over spring break. One of our stops was at the South Fork of Silver Creek, known for its beautiful, steep, granite bedrock canyon that creates an incredible number of big slides and waterfalls in a very short distance. Almost everything is runnable, especially at low water when we were there.

Props to Eric Conklin for showing us the way down (and up). It was early season, so we had to trudge up through the snow from the take-out along the river. There is sort of a trail, but it’s hard to see and not really that good when the smooth granite is covered by slick snow. It was a haul, but we made it up to an appropriate put in spot above boof, boof slide. After that it was all down, and fast. We stopped for photos and video when we could. Take a look.
