It’s either age or experience but I actually enjoyed the tour across Missouri and Kansas this trip, smooth sailing with a green recent-rained sheen attached to it. Upon arriving in Colorado the sunset was kicking in below a thick dark cloud one one side of 70, while the moon shown over a massive thunderstorm on the other.

Awoke today to pick up Dan Gavere at airport and then headed over to Union Street to meet Don, from Confluence Kayak, to see the ‘best play park in Colorado’ back in action after over 5 years of drought. While I’m still nursing a repaired ear drum, Dan filled in nicely for me and Mike Paris was kind enough to demo out a Super Star so I could shoot it. . .

The hole was trashy but sweet looking yet the wave below drew the whole park crowd at once, about 10 people – including the rest of the harderst-core ‘Front Range’ play crew: Stevo, Brooks and Kevin all waiting for this fast, steep shouldered blunt-astic feature.

Stephen, Ruth, Nic, Dane, and Emily all returning from Steamboat today, and with pretty good results. I’ll let them mention it when they get in. Snuggled into the Evergreen at Vail, the Teva Mountain Games about to begin and I’m psyched to help challenge the athletes as much as possible as a judge / co-ordinator of this great big event. More as it happens..
