Today I got to be a 6’4” 240 pound hard hitting dude, paddling a Dagger boat with a Goatee and an attitude. Yes, I was Hobie. Hobie got his shoulder messed up a few weeks ago and was bumming that he couldn’t be an “8 ball” in the crazy no holds barred event here at the Teva Mountain Games. Hobie has always been the primary 8 Ball guy and I felt that the event woudn’t be the same with out him in there. So I put on some fake facial hair, grabbed a Dagger boat, and a Dagger helmet and went out as Hobie’s remote controlled destroyer. He simply told me what to do and I did it, and it was all in good fun.

I managed some good blocks, some big hits, and some tactical errors also. Here are a few photos of the action.

In the end Andrew Holcomb blasted his way through the mess with Nick Troutman only 2 feet behind and Rush Sturgess just behind Nick.

In the women’s class it was Eleanor Perry snaking her way through the 8 ballers with Devon Barker getting second and Tanya Faux getting beat up but in third.

Good Fun!

🙂
