Freestyle Clinics with Ruth Gordon on the Potomac, July 6-8

Ruth Gordon, Women’s Freestyle Kayaking Champion for 2007, will be at Valley Mill July 6-8 to teach playboating clinics. These clinics are for those boaters out there that have any interest in playboating; from basic surfing technique to playboating. A bombproof roll is mandatory. The clinics will be for three hours from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday; 9:00 a.m. to noon & 2:00 p.m. to 5:00pm on Saturday; & 9:00 a.m. until noon on Sunday. Each clinic is limited to five boaters. The cost of the clinic is $150. To make a reservation for the clinic please contact Monique at Valley Mill Kayak Shop at 301-840-7388. Monique will also be able to help you out with a boat if you need to demo a playboat on a first come first serve basis.

A cookout is scheduled at Valley Mill Boats for Saturday, July 7 at 6:00 p.m., so come on out and meet and paddle with Ruth, the current (two-time) Canadian National Champion, third in the 2006 World Cup Series, and the 2005 North American Champion. She is currently an instructor at Liquid Skills on the Ottawa River.
