Gearfest goes-off in Dayton, OH! by Will Richardson | Sep 8, 2007 | Whitewater | 0 comments October 25, 2007 Photos By Stephen Wright In it’s 3rd year, Gearfest was better than ever yesterday in the streets of Dayton. It’s a time where outdoor stores, companies, and interest groups gather in booths with demos by trials bikers, climbers, and kayakers. I was here to support Whitewater Warehouse and be a freestyle kayaker-demo guy in a pool in the middle of the action. Whitewater Warehouse is a huge kayak store that has tons of boats and is run by Bernie, who is a great paddler and nice guy. Between paddling with Corey Volt, playing with kid paddlers, talking about boats, listening to 4 live bands, and enjoying the SWEET local market, I really enjoyed myself! Now it’s back to the Gauley for my last 2 days of the season here before driving south to Rock Island, TN! The past month has been magical: paddling with my friends 4 or 5 days a week, playing lots of Disc Golf, hiking, playing with Black Dog, replacing all 4 ball joints, both tie rods, and the idler arm on my truck, and enjoying some of my favorite restaurants on earth: The Cathedral Café (breakfast for me), and Pies and Pints (pizza dinner)!
