White Christmas in Canada

Well, for the first 10 days of Dec. Emily and I decided to go up and visit my parents and family, being that we will be here in Tennessee for Christmas.

Well, if you were wondering if there is any snow is Canada the answer is yes! There was already about a foot of snow when we arrived, and then it snowed for two days, bringing another 1-2 feet of snow, and then it snowed some more.

We brought our kayak gear in the hopes of getting some last days on the Ottawa, though there was too much ice, and the temperature never came above -10 degrees Celsius. So instead we headed to the hills for some snow kayaking. We had a blast in the snow, sliding, wrestling, making snow people, and making snow angles.

We also celebrated an early Christmas with my family, which was awesome being that I don’t see then as much as I should. We all had a great time playing games for hours.

I also was able to play some hockey. I played for my brothers Team (being he is sick with mono), and we played against the ‘Kayakers’ Team. Yes that is right there is an actual ‘Kayakers’ Team in the Beachburg Hockey League. Anyway Joel Kowalski and Myself, along side with a bunch of old school friends and various cousins, destroyed the likes of Brendan Mark, Ken Whiting, Chad Hitchens, and Kevin Varette and Dave and Luke Neiuwenhouse. We didn’t even have a goalie for the first 10 minutes, which is ridiculous (he was late). The score ended up being 4-0 for the our team.

I also was able to get some Video work done with Joel, for our upcoming film, ‘Here & Now.’ Including our DVD Cover which we will be posting soon.

Our flight back we had many different delays, and cancelations, though we finally arrived to the 80 degree Tennessee for some late night ‘Spot-Light’ paddling sessions.

It was a great trip, and I am so glad I was able to see my family. Mom and Dad I know you will be reading this, so thanks for the good times, and I love you guys, and to everyone else, Happy Holidays.
