Well is anyone wondering what Jackson Kayak’s Ambassador
otherwise known as Kayakmedic is up to? Well every year at least once I
leave the boat and paddle at home and do an international teaching trip, to
an area that is building fire and EMS agencies and programs. The past few
years I have been going to Cambodia mostly teaching in Phnom Penh. Last week
we had a change of plans at home and I suddenly had some free time. One of
the groups I work with was leaving for Mexico to for fire training in El
Grullo. So soon as I could make some shift trades I was on a plane to
Guadalajara. For the past week I have been teaching new firefighters in near
100F heat. And no whitewater in sight.
I’m anxious to get back to the Northwest to catch a little boating before
getting on a plane to Vietnam in March. If you would like to read about my
