Jackson Kayak represents many things to me, but first and foremost, family. Numerous times over the past few years I have been reminded of the long reach of the JK family unit; from a caring call to a thoughtful high five.

We’ve come together in Costa Rica as a mish mash of athletes, friends and family. We span the ages of 14 to 47. We eat, sleep, and paddle as a unit.

We play games, we load boats, we endure long shuttles and little food. We cringe at stinky, wet gear and laugh at jungle hair. We push our limits, bit our tongues and try to be the best team players we can.

We are patient, we are thoughtful, we are strong, we are team JK and we are family.

Trip Highlights:
paddling, poker and pinto
meeting the Phil Coleman: the guy the infamous Ottawa River’s Phil’s Hole is named after
Having a local guide to help with everything from language to logistics – Thank you Marito!
Rios Tropicales Pacure Lodge: zip lines, monkey’s and more
Log climbing and cliff jumping
All the flora and fauna you can imagine!

Sunny Smiles,
Ruth
