Chris Korbulic sends in a great update from Northern California by Will Richardson | May 18, 2008 | Heros, Whitewater | 0 comments By Chris Korbulic Hey there guys, Congratulations on the Jackson family sweep at Reno! It looked like it was a great event and lots of fun. I’ve been having a good bit of fun too over in Northern California on runs like the South Branch of the Middle Fork of the Feather and Big Kimshew creek. The weather has been amazing and we’ve been lucky enough to be joined by great crews almost every day including a couple days with Stookesberry and Coombs as they were passing through touring the video. I rallied the South Branch again with Darin and the Knight brothers who are really enjoying their Super Hero’s. So much so, actually, that the Knight brothers both ran a falls that had only been run once before, by Devin. Fired up! Devin, Jono Ramsay, and I continued down the South Branch canyon past the usual take-out and portaged the remaining seven falls, three 150 foot falls stacked right on top of each other. Definitely one of the most amazing and beautiful places I have ever been. We’re meeting up with Darin and the Knight brothers tomorrow for a possible first descent in the Feather drainage then maybe Kimshew a couple more times. Yes. California is good.
