Chirripo Atlantico River in one day.

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great time paddling wherever you
are. I just got back home after another great season on the Ottawa River.

I just wanted to show you some pictures of a river that we did before my
trip.

This river has the same name as the highest peak of Costa Rica. Chirripo(12
000 feet above sea level) and from there you can find to glaciers, one forms
the Chirripo Pacifico and the one we ran is called Chirripo Atlantico each
of them running to their corresponding ocean.

The Chirripo Atlantico is a 90 km run through La Amistad
(friendship)International Park, our biggest that goes all the way south and
cross the border with Panama. We usually do this run in 3 days but this time
we decided to do it in a 10 hours adrenaline rush after a 2 hours hike in.
Beautiful canon and lots of nice drops and slides.

It was pretty amazing experiencing with the Cabecar indian tribe as they ran
to shore to see the kayakers running the rapids that they consider as death.

Right now the rivers are pumping and we are planning a trip to the General
River our biggest volume river, taking advantage of this hurricane season.
Lots of good rapids and also good waves.

Have a nice kayak day.

Jose.
