This week just downstream of the current whitewater park another was completed. Though it is still not officially open I had the chance to test out the new features in the Sparks Whitewater Park – and yes I got to be the first (there has to be some perks to being the world champ). There are five features in all and to be a little more original than it’s upstream counterpart (whose names are 1, 2, 3.. etc) they’ve actually got names: Double D, Turtle Back, Runway. That is all but one feature, the final playspot. Locals are invited to come up with names and send them to Colin Kemp. The top names will be chosen and then it will be put to a poll. Do you think you have a cool name for a playspot?

Here are some pics from my first run (as the water was still rising – see trucks removing diversion).

You might have noticed I haven’t posted in awhile, if you’re interested in what I’ve been up to check out www.ruthgordon.ca
