Cane Creek on a weekend by Will Richardson | Jan 13, 2009 | Whitewater | 0 comments By Clay Wright With the slow and steady rains the pump was finally primed to fill up the caves and keep Cane Creek flowing days after the last rain. Brad Cisco – our Assembly Manager at Jackson Kayak was looking to knock this local 4+ gem off his list, and collected fellow ‘virgins’ Adam Kemptner, Jase Bodin, and Jonothan Glover while I picked up EJ for his virgin run as well. Justin Owen is always game and joined in as well. We arrived to find a minimum ‘-2 and falling’ take out and just over 0 put-in level which would suit everyone just fine for the first run of the season. We had great luck! Not a single tree had to be portaged and after we deftly removed a log from the crux of ‘Rear Entry’ most of our group was able to run all the rapids without a single swim, pin, or incident. Here are some really bad shots ( it was really dark, wet, and foggy down there!) of our amazing local run just 15 minutes from where these guys are molding and making our Jackson Kayaks. Enjoy the shots – Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
