Clay visits NOC Demo Days

The weather was HOT and so were the deals at NOC demo days, and the
boats were sure moving! While the incredible staff from NOC
instruction taught free rolling clinics ALL weekend, and had set up
the play-wave for nice right blunts, the Lil Hero was our top seller
at this event. It was great to now have the perfect boat choice for
those little ladies and younger guys looking for a river-runner who
just don’t fit well in any other boat.

While I mostly helped people with sizes, outfitting, and model choice
I also got to to some Dynamic Duo rolling in the heated pool
(handrolling the Duo is much easier than expected!) and paddling on
the Nantahala. Finished the weekend with a quick 5PM Duo run on the
Ocoee where Tara and I not only got amazing boofs off White-face and
that right flake at Tablesaw but also caught the eddy behind Diamond
Splitter!

My favorite Duo moves has to be the ’50/50 grind” – where you drive
up a long sloping rock in the current and slide down it with the bow-
rider hanging out in space while the stern holds onto a sweep, riding
weightless as the boat teeters both paddlers in the air along the
way. . . good stuff!
