Women’s Only Beginner Course University of Puget Sound

Just wanted to send you a quick note about my fun weekend.

I was asked by the organizer’s of the kayak club at the University of Puget Sound (UPS) to visit, for the second year in a row, and hold a “women’s only” kayak course. The weekend consisted of a Thursday evening pool session, Friday evening pool session and a Sunday “river day” on the Skykomish river in WA.

We had about 15 women attend the Thursday evening pool session, which consisted of learning the “basics” of whitewater kayaking. Our Friday evening pool session and Sunday “river day” consisted of about 8 of the most awesome women ever!!!! No joke!

Needless to say, I had a great time teaching this course and the women had a very empowering and fun day, supporting one another and being on the water with other women. I look forward to my visit next year!
