We sat down for a quick interview with one of Jackson Kayak’s newest staff members, Ian Stewart of our growing customer service department.  We thought we’d share a few bits of information on Ian … just so you get to know him a bit more and welcome him aboard.

Q – in a few short words, Ian, what is it that you do for Jackson Kayak?
Ian – I am focused on Consumer service. I answer a large portion of our consumer calls and emails. I have a deep knowledge of every inch of the Coosa and have become the point person for dealer and consumer customer service for this boat. I give most of our plant tours which lets me interact with our dealers on a more personal level.

Q – Where you are from?
Ian – I was born down the road in Cookeville, TN and now live down river of Rock Island on Center Hill Lake.  I have a cozy cottage that I share with my dogs, cats, and kayaks.

Q – What challenges you think your involvement will improve at JK?
I turn positive intentions and energy into results. I started in shipping here at JK. Shipping interacts heavily with every department, and because of this I have a great understanding of how the whole plant functions and interacts.

Q –  Anything else you may want a dealer to know about you!
I went to school to teach high school history, then bartended for ten years. I never envisioned working in the Kayak industry, but now I cannot imagine doing anything but working for Jackson.
