The following is a press release from our PR department
Jackson Kayak will make its debut at the upcoming Paddlesport 2011, the biggest consumer canoe and kayak show on the East Coast, March 25 – 27 at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ. Jackson Kayak will be among the largest collection of paddlesports brands under one roof who will present their latest products and share their passion for paddlesports and the outdoors.
Enthusiasts of paddling, kayak fishing and the outdoors will be able to find the latest models of canoes, kayaks, standup paddleboards and accessories from leading manufacturers, talk to professionals and clubs, attend free seminars by paddling and fishing experts like Jackson Kayak’s Drew Gregory, and learn about great places to paddle.
“We’re enormously pleased to have the opportunity to exhibit at such a prestigious show as Paddlesport,” said Jackson Kayak sales director Marty Cronin. “I think it’s a milestone to be here and a testament to how far our brand, that was born in whitewater, has come in developing championship-caliber boats that make paddling more fun for flatwater and saltwater kayakers too.”
In addition to being a new exhibitor, the show marks the East Coast debut of Jackson Kayak’s newest recreational kayaks, the Rogue a transition boat equally adept on flatwater or whitewater and the Coosa, the world’s first boat designed specifically for kayak river fishing enthusiasts but that’s so loaded with cool features that anglers in other waters are impressed with it too. The company’s full line of rec/touring boats will be at the show.
Paddlesport 2011 is chock full of interesting seminars from some of the most cutting edge kayak and canoe pros. Jackson Kayak’s Drew Gregory prepares you for river fishing in seminars held once daily, each day of the show.
Friday night’s highlight is the Reel Paddling Film Festival, a collection of the world’s best short independent films on paddling. All proceeds from Friday’s screening benefit Clean Ocean Action as they work to keep our local waters and ocean clean and safe. Patagonia Footwear will also be donating to Clean Ocean Action ten dollars for every pair of their shoes purchased at Paddlesport 2011 or at the Jersey Paddler store into April.
“Over the years, there has been a growing interest in paddlesport activities,” said John Durrua, president of The Jersey Paddler. “This show is a great spot for paddlers of all levels to come together and plan for the new season.”
Presented by The Jersey Paddler and sponsored by NRS, Paddlesport 2011 will be held at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ on Friday, March 25 Noon to 9 pm, Saturday, March 26 from 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, March 27 from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Admission is $10 per day per adult and free for children 14 and under. For more information on Paddlesport 2011, contact The Jersey Paddler at 888.22.KAYAK or www.jerseypaddler.com.

About Paddlesport
The Paddlesport show, the largest kayak, canoe and outdoor consumer show on the East Coast, got its start 50 years ago with the gathering of a few local canoe clubs, retailers and manufacturers at a local college gymnasium. Over the years the show grew to a size that the local clubs could no longer handle the logistics. In 1981, the show was turned over to The Jersey Paddler, of Brick, NJ, a family-owned business run by John Durrua and built by a family with a passion for paddling and exploring new places. Since 1998, the Paddlesport show has been held at the Garden State Exhibit Center, a 70,000 square foot facility.
