The Upper NJ by Jezz | Apr 18, 2011 | Creeking, Hero, Trips, Uncategorized, Whitewater | 0 comments By BONDY Unfortunately the seasons is once again coming towards the end over here in Far North Qld – Australia. However that does mean one good thing though, all of the classic two day, class IV – V big river trips are dropping back down to paddle-able levels. After yet another failed attempt to get onto Broadwater creek, the call was made to head up to the Upper North Johnston river. The Upper NJ is a solid two days of continual class IV – V big volume steep creeking, with only a couple of mandatory portages along the way. With a solid crew and some perfect water levels we were rewarded with stunning weather, and some sweet boating. The best way to describe the weekend though is by video, so enjoy. bondy Click here to view the embedded video.
