The Whitewater Grand Prix was an experiment to say the least. Pat Camblin had a vision of an event that our sport hasn’t seen yet. A competition combining 6 different events, both race and freestyle, over 14 days, chasing the best whitewater in Quebec.

The idea was always there, but no one know for sure what would actually happen. It is hard to base a competition without actually knowing where you are going to have water. Though Pat and Julie pulled it off, with great water levels, and great events. It was amazing getting to travel around Quebec searching for the best whitewater with 21 others amazing boaters all crammed in a couple vans.

In the end, I can’t say enough about it, how much fun it all was, and how challenging the competitions were, being a definitely step-up from most events out there. It was a privilege to be one of the competitors and to be able to be able to be a part of the whole event. I was stoked with my 4th place finish, and even more fired up to push harder next year.
