2012 WORLD CUP – Coming this weekend!

With the 2012 World Cup creeping up around the corner Jackson Kayak is excited to welcome all the Athlete’s to the US and even better to our home spot: Rock Island Hole!

It’s an exciting time for Jackson Kayak with the launch of our 2013 Star Series boats. Many athletes are already switching out of their Rockstar’s and 2010 Boats to jump into the new boat. Why? Because the new boat is a huge step forward, much like the 2007 Star to the 2010 Star. Its faster, loops bigger, is a better fit for most athletes and it’s easier to link moves together due to the forgiving edges.

The first event will be held in Rock Island, at 1,800 cfs. It’s a looping, mcnasty’ing, phonics monkeying machine!  Athlete will be pouring in on the 22nd to train. The event is Friday the 24th through Sunday the 26th. Be sure to come check out some of the best paddlers take their rides in our beloved Rock Island Hole!

The second event is on the Pigeon River at the NOC Outpost located there. Exit 447 off hwy 40.  Simply follow the signs for NOC Outpost and you arrive directly at the Hole. This hole is fantastic. We’re excited to see the combos that the athletes will be performing as the foam is easy to control meaning combo moves are more likely!

The third event and finals for the World Cup is being held on the Nantahala at their new feature. The hole was in its final works this week but as of Saturday they made the final adjustments. There will be several bands playing live music, beer will be pouring and great food as always.  Jackson Kayak  and Kokatat will be sponsoring one of the bands playing and the party so be sure to come out!

JK has over 70 athletes coming from around the World to take on the chance of becoming World Cup Champion! Be sure to come cheer on ALL the athletes who have made the trip to come paddle our local features!

Happy Paddling to All and Hope to see you out at the 2012 World Cup Championships!
