Our youth group was planning on kayaking the Coosa River in Wetumpka Alabama and we knew this would be a great time for some whitewater experience in our Jackson Coosa’s. Our home river, the Chattahoochee, near Columbus Georgia is undergoing a whitewater transformation right now. When it is done there will be plenty of opportunity to play in the water but our main purpose for running the rapids will be to get to the awesome shoal bass that live there. This was our first time running in rapids like this so we were not sure what to expect. We ran both of our Coosa’s, mine and the camera boat. The maneuverability of the Coosa gets talked about all the time but in water like this it is a necessity. The width and stability, and the comfort of the elite seat made for a great trip. It was an all day adventure including a stopover with the group for lunch and a short swim. We kept our camera gear secure in the nose hatch and soft sided coolers strapped down in our tank wells held lunch and cold drinks. It was a great learning experience and helped to prepare us for the shoal bass adventures of the future.
