Today was the first day of HUCK Colorado, and it couldn’t have been better. The drive to the river was gorgeous. On one side we would have the Rockies and the other would be prairies for miles. As we neared the river you could almost feel the energy rising in the van. Joining us today were two guides from Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center. Josh was our guide and he was excellent. He really gave us some great tips and ideas when we were on the river. Today was a play boating day and we were in the towns of Buena Vista and Salida where there was one whitewater park in each town, with waves and holes for us to practice and play on. We spent the morning at the park in Salida and that was a blast we even got to do some body surfing in one of the holes. At the Buena Vista Park the waves were great I really feel like I improved my skill. We just got to our campsite and are setting up our tents. Dinners on the way, I am hoping for jambalaya. Man, I’m wiped. I plan on going to bed early tonight, and being ready for what lies for me tomorrow on HUCK Colorado!

We had a great time today we went down some insane rapids. The water is cool but the river is awesome. We met Dustin who is a great free style kayaker, we also met some local, Josh, and Tommy. We also learned about some plants and trees. Dinner is almost ready I can’t wait, and were going to unload the trailer so our gear dries out. I have met a lot of nice guys here. The wildlife is great we’ve seen a deer and a couple of rabbits also we’ve seen an eagle. The river really made me tired I am going to get a good night sleep to night. At the end of the river there was a small play wave but still pretty power full I did some back decks, stern squirt bow stalls it was really fun and I can’t wait until tomorrow.
