Well, Slave River Paddle Fest is upon us again this year! Here is the start to our 4th annual event. Stay tuned for events from the weekend including Throwdown’s, Big Air competitions, boater cross, etc. This weekend is about more than just paddling, its about celebrating the Slave River within the northern communities of Fort Smith and Fort Fitzgerald.

It was only a couple of years ago that the Slave River was under threat of being dammed. Our way of making this river known was instead to share this river with the paddling and local communities.

Below are photos of our pre-Paddle Fest evenings. We had roughly 30 people out in Rafts, SUP’s, Kayaks and inflatables. I have to say, I am super excited that JK is making SUP’s.
