Last year, the city of Durango had to repair a pipe under the river. The backhoe operator was a kayaker and slipped a few rocks into a strategic location while repairing the riverbed. I had the pleasure of visiting this new world class feature dubbed the 29th Street hole at the perfect level of 1800 CFS.
