I am a big fan of having the right tools for the trade.  My son has his own Skipper and we used the Big Tuna for years as our tandem, but on this day, I was going out in my Cuda 12 and KC wanted to join in and ride with me.    I have to remember that it is more important to just “get out there” than it is to have all of your ducks in a row sometimes.    It was getting late and there wasn’t time to go get his Skipper, so we grabbed two rods, one paddle, no electronics or anchors, no tackle, one GoPro, and two life jackets.        We put in at the Rock Island Boat Ramp at the top of Center Hill Lake and cruised upstream to the rapids.   Water temps in the high 70’s, beautiful evening, and KC was in good form.     Two Bald Eagles soared overhead, a Blue Herren, and a big spotted bass were some of the animal highlights.    KC wanted to swim below the rapids, play in the waterfalls, and ask me lots of questions.   I managed to capture a little of it on my camera and edited this video.    Enjoy!

KC landed this big Kentucky Spotted bass on a Strike King Swim  Jig with Twin Tail Menace trailer a Cashion 6’9″ M/H rod, Ardent Elite reel,  and Tuf-line braid.      In case you were wondering. 🙂
