On August 20, 21, and 22, OKC Kayak, Jackson Kayak, and Riversport Rapids will be hosting Dane Jackson at the Oklahoma Whitewater Festival and internationally televised Extreme Slalom event. After slalom, you can learn from one of the best WW paddlers of all time, during two days of free clinics. Watch the Extreme Slalom event Friday night at 6 p.m,, and kick back both Friday and Saturday with an after party and fireworks on the Oklahoma River, seeing all from the seat of your kayak. Saturday evening, we plan to have as many kayaks of every type on the water for a televised floating grandstand. Watch the races and stay for a second night of fireworks. Launch by 6 p.m. from the boatramp just north of the whitewater center to participate. This event will offer something for everyone from beginner to advanced paddlers alike. Just added!!!.

Jeff and Shannon Jensen, experts on making whitewater engaging and fun for all ages, will be bringing their expertise to help you advance your skills as well. (The Jensens lead one of the largest youth paddling programs in the world.) This is a rare opportunity to help your whitewater kayaking skills grow with the help of the best coaches out there. No signup necessary. Show up at Riversport Rapids (800 Riversport Drive) in Oklahoma City at 9:30 a.m., Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with your whitewater boat, helmet, skirt, lifejacket, and paddle. All participants will need to sign a waiver and pay the daily kayaking fee of $29 to use the whitewater park, unless they are a season pass holder.
