Learn to RUDDER by doing exercises in the video!

What is it?

The Rudder is a technique when you leave your blade near the tail and “pull or push the water” with active and passive side. It can be used to go straight, break in and out from the eddy, or even control the surf. It works exactly the same way as a rudder in a sailing boat.

Step by Step

  1. Do a sweep or a power stroke.
  2. Pull a blade towards your tail and leave it there while going forward.
  3. Push on the passive side of the blade to turn towards it
  4. Pull on the active side towards the tail to turn away from it.
