The first weekend of summer had two divisions of the Jackson Kayak Trail holding events as we inch closer to the end of the season. Starting in Indiana it was long-time JK team member Chad Brock taking the “W” on Lake Monroe. Chads victory also makes him the first angler to win on both the boat side and the kayak side of USA BASSIN! The accomplishment didn’t come easy as the seasoned veteran had to grind all day for his bites utilizing a new prototype bait. The bite was as rough as the pleasure boat traffic but Chads Jackson Kayak Knarr handled the wake with ease and was the only boat to see fish loaded to the Tourney X leaderboard!

Our other tournament played out on Claytor Lake in Virginia and like Indy the bite was tough! A few anglers found fish but it was Michael Turpin out fishing the competition for the win! Turpin slimed up the deck of his Jackson Coosa FD early throwing a Spro 30 rat around Rocky banks to catch his first keeper but had to grind the rest of the day around marina docks cycling through several Bizz Baits soft plastics to tempt the winning fish to bite. The effort was worth it as Turpin gets the win and builds precious momentum heading towards the Classic! Stay up to date on the trail and upcoming events on Facebook, Instagram and usabassin.com . We look forward to seeing you on the water soon!
