I have been boating for just over 2 years now, mainly interested in creeking but love to get out in the play boat from time to time also. I recently just changed boats into a Jackson Villain S. I had a day at Penrith white water stadium to get use to my new boat, then I was off to Cairns QLD for 2 weeks of monsoon creeking! I meet up with Josh Bond, Jez and the local crew for some of the best boating I have ever done. We wasted no time getting into it, on the second day I ran the scariest drop I have done to date, devils tounge on Behana creek. After watching two pretty dodgy runs before me I was quite nervous, but my line was sweet and I nailed the drop. From then on I was pumped to go hard in my new boat. We did a whole range of rivers and creeks over the 2 weeks. Did high volume Barron river, low volume creeking on Josiphine creek, and everything in between. I’ll let the video do the talking of what I thought of the boat, but one thing is for sure, I felt alot safer in my new boat then any boat I have paddled before, even though it was some of the harder stuff I have paddled. We have big plans this season down here in vic, so stay tuned for more to come.
