Jackson Kayak Gives You The Choice by Tray Collins | Jan 26, 2012 | Cuda, Fishing | 14 comments When Jackson Kayak released the new colors for 2012 I had a hard time figuring out which color I wanted for my new Cuda. It was really hard for me to decide because of the awesome solid, and mixed colors that they offer. The local dealer ordered five or six colors and allowed me to come take a look at them once they got them in. On the way over I was set on Black Widow, but when we pulled Yellow Jacket out I had to have it. Recently, I had a chance to purchase another kayak. I’ve been so impressed by the Cuda that I had to have another, but this time with a rudder. I started with the whole color selection ordeal when I though “A black kayak”! The team over at Jackson gave me exactly what I wanted. The best part about it is that you can have a custom solid color or design too! Maybe your favorite professional, or collegiate sports team color, your favorite color, or just a different mix of colors? The choice is yours! It will add to the price of the kayak, but it IS possible only at Jackson. To find out more ask your local Jackson Kayak dealer or contact customer service @ 931.738.2628 or email: info at jacksonkayak.com Here’s my custom all-black Cuda: 14 Comments elementfiftyfour on January 26, 2012 at 5:39 pm Looks pretty farkin sweet. Reply Dylan Abernathy on January 28, 2012 at 3:43 am I was waiting to see a black one! Looks amazing! I hope you bring something to keep that baby cool! Reply swamp monster on January 28, 2012 at 5:04 am That thing is sic! Looks like an intimidating battleship! Can’t wait to pick up my Black Widow! Reply Tray Collins on January 28, 2012 at 4:31 pm Thanks for the compliments! I was wondering what a black kayak would look like too, and I love the way it turned out. I’m working on something to keep it cool! 😉 I also like the multi colored designs, they’re like fingerprints with no two designs the same! That Black Widow will look good Swamp! Reply Eric on January 28, 2012 at 8:00 pm Tray, you won’t have any issues keeping cool with the all-black kayak. That thing exudes coolness! I found the perfect soundtrack to use in the first video going down a river in your new boat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2Q_N86psV8 Reply Tray Collins on February 4, 2012 at 8:25 am @Eric cool song, will consider it for the first video. @Mike A guy on the fishing team came up with “Black Mamba”, “Fear Of The Dark” is cool too! @Dpsammy Thanks! I took it out in some waves not long ago (3-4′, nice for here LOL). The Rod tip cover sliced each wave in three parts shedding most of the wave to the sides, the middle part of the wave came into the front hatch area and quickly drained before it came into the cockpit. I was really impressed! I thought about the seal issue, and I know they’re bad up the California coast! @Matt I’m not really sure about the color being much hotter than a dark green, or another dark color. Here in Louisiana it’s hot no matter what, I’ll take a swim if it’s too bad. 😉 Reply Steve Joseph on March 10, 2012 at 11:08 pm Nope…..There’s only one Black Mamba, he resides out in LA and goes by the name Kobe Bryant. Excellent colors, time to check out the red and black, bad A$$!! Reply Tray Collins on March 12, 2012 at 12:03 pm Thanks Steve. Kobe is currently sharing the name with my black kayak 😉 Reply Mike on January 31, 2012 at 1:15 am Not many people name there kayaks.. How about “fear of the dark”? Reply Dpsammy on January 31, 2012 at 3:38 am Tray, that is soooooooo cool. I too totally dig the battleship bow….. Cutting into the waves…. Very sweet. I live on the west coast, Northern California. Taking it on the ocean in black would make me nervous…. Paddling along looking waaaay too much like a helpless seal in an area of BIG Great White sharks. Lol Reply Matt on February 2, 2012 at 2:24 am Would love to see it in white! Do you think black is going to really hot when the sun is beating on it? Reply Virgil on January 7, 2016 at 5:18 am Did you have any issues with heat in the summer time? Strongly considering this color.
