Tallapoosa/West Georgia Jackson Coosa Teen! by JK Team | Jan 30, 2012 | Coosa, Fishing, Fishing Reports, Fly Fishing | 4 comments Why do I love my JK? I’m seventeen, and as I’ve grown older with my friends, they’ve gotten into some stupid stuff. I can proudly say that instead of falling into those dangerous and unwise habits, I spend my Friday nights loading up my Coosa for my weekend fishing trip. Not only do I get to do something I love, but I get to be an example for those around me. Not only does it give me a positive hobby, but it’s just outright fun. I love every detail that has been incorporated into my Coosa. It’s stable enough to jump around on, sit on the bow and load rods up while still in the water, and spin all the way around to reach my crate. It has stagers and bungees all over the thing to help me keep my gear with me, instead of the bottom of lakes. The best part about my boat is the seat. Even though I’m young and spry, other kayaks wore me out. I paddled the Coosa ONCE, and I fell in love with that seat. 4 Comments Eric@tallapoosa paddling company on February 1, 2012 at 1:02 am Awesome post!!!!…Dylan truly is an awesome youth ambassador for kayaking/fishing and JK in West Georgia Reply Mitch Bearden on February 1, 2012 at 1:02 am I completely agree! Falling in love with whitewater has set me apart from most of my friends who got into stupid things as well. Living near Atlanta, I’m the only person of my age (18) that whitewater kayaks. Most of my buddies at school have no idea what its like to even experience being on the water. It’s a lifestyle with no comparison! Reply TRR on February 1, 2012 at 4:12 am Great article, your way ahead of the game. When I was your age I had a hobby that I was passionate about, it kept me out of all kinds of trouble, have known lots of people who ended up in prison, on drugs etc. Keep enjoying that Coosa, you’ll be glad you did and can look back fondly at your youth. Reply Dylan R Abernathy on February 5, 2012 at 2:37 am Thanks everyone! Mitch I know what you mean when you said that your friends have no idea what it’s like to be on the water. I really had no idea this was going to be published, but boy was it a surprise! Thanks to everyone at Jackson Kayak! Reply Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
