Yesterday the gold group, went to a section of the Arkansas River called The Numbers.  It was a nice class 3 to 4 river with plenty of boofs and holes.  The rapids were named 1-7 with some nice boogie water in between each.   We split into two groups, I was in group two which was led by Zach and Taylor.  They showed us many different and challenging lines, involving eddie catching and ferrying.  My personal favorite was a rapid in which you could catch and eddie and then paddle back up to the beginning of the rapid.  Another cool line was on the rapid 5 in which we had to catch a small eddie on the left side of the river and then ferry across right above rocks to the right side of the river.  After the river we drove up a mountain and hiked the rest of the way up.  On the way down it started hailing.  Later that night we went to a park and were jumping off the rocks doing tricks.  For dinner, we tried to get into a pizza and a hamburger place but the wait was too long so we went to Subway. -Davis Today was awesome! The green group went to the Royal Gorge in the Arkansas river with Josh, Andrew, Darin McQuoid and Jez.

Today was awesome! The green group went to the Royal Gorge in the Arkansas river with Josh, Andrew, Darin McQuoid and Jez. One of josh’s friends from Chile also paddled with us and taught us some cool words in Spanish. I had a great time on all of the rapids with some of the pros. The taught us a lot such as, catching eddies, punching holes and making our own lines down rapids. I also enjoyed all of great views. We saw many beautiful parts of the canyon as well as big horned sheep. They were friendly but we couldn’t get too close to them. My favorite rapid of the day was sunshine. It started as a narrow rapid and led to a big hole. After sunshine we could look up and see a wooden bridge over 1,000 feet high. There were also many boofs on the river. We called it the booffett. The pros laughed. The river was mostly a creeking river but there were some nice surf holes. I felt great going through all of the rapids. Today was the best so far I cant wait until tomorrow.
