Upper Vecchio | Low Water Corsica Part 1 by JK Team | May 12, 2021 | Creeking, Featured Post, France, Internationalisation, jacksonkayak.com, JAdventures Main Banner, Nirvana, Whitewater, Whitewater Feature, WW Disciplines | 0 comments Submitted by Mylo Nicholas This past April I spent 2 weeks in Corsica. The levels where super low, due to cold temperatures and the lack of snowmelt, however we still managed to have a good time and bag a few runs. The Upper Vecchio is one the more difficult sections on the island, full of siphons, and steepness for days… The clear water and full day out on the water is more than worth it though. We started high up at a small village called Canaglia, where the friendly locals told us that people die every year in this gorge and that our days are counted; what a nice warm welcome at the put in! We set off and Eliot got pinned in a small siphon in the first 15mins of the run which set the tone, however the rest was animated with big smiles, huge portages, cheese, coppa (corsican ham) which we took in our dry bags. I highly recommend the Upper Vecchio, now I need to go back with higher water… Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
