Hotel Charley 2 plays in Reno

Ben and I are so excited to visit Reno and spend time at the Reno River Festival. We have a great dealer there in Reno Mountain Sports and love to support them. We hope to paddle with them this weekend and would love to see you on the water. Jay Kincaid, a fellow Team Jackson Kayak member, is the godfather of Reno kayaking and we felt we owed it to him to give a call and get his blessing to hit the water. Eric Jackson, our kayak sponsor, friend and mentor won the freestyle event and we always look forward to spending time with Kristine, Emily, Dane, EJ and the whole Jackson Kayak crew. Of course there are many great competitors and people at the event, and they are all fun. The city of Reno is one of the greatest places on earth to play and Ben and I make full use of all the tremendous opportunities to have fun presented by this very hip city.

This year we are premiering Hotel Charley 2 with Patrick Nichols of SURFNV, and he has done more work than anyone I have ever seen to promote the show. We had an interview on Wednesday with Kristen Walthers of Channel 2 and radio spots have been playing for the last week to support the premier. Pat has also canvased the Reno play park about 15 times with fliers and been talking with everyone we know. We were going to share with premier with Scott Lindgren and his new film on Steve Fischer, but unfortunately due to technical issues it looks like Scott will just be showing a teaser. We are VERY excited to show the world premier of the new Jackson Kayak promo video created by clearh2ofilms and edited by Ben Stookesberry. This is shaping up to be the biggest premier of the year and could not happen at a better place. If there is any chance you can make it, this is an event you won’t want to miss. The premier is Friday, May 11th at 7:30pm at Fritz’s Bar and Grill near the campus in Reno.
