Eric Seymore (No Big Names series Star and co-producer) is welcomed to Team JK’s regional team! by Will Richardson | Nov 29, 2006 | Rockers, Whitewater | 0 comments Eric is 6′ 4" tall, fairly quiet, but loves to hit the ground running when it comes to expedition boating. I only knew Eric from the Twitch series and No Big Names until this trip, so I didn’t know what to expect. He is a team player, super motivated and always knows what to do next. His experience along side of Ben Stookesberry shows as the two of them (formerly partners in No Big Names) rarely need words to implement a rapidly changing plan that includes tough portages, rapids, filming, or safety. I developed a lot of respect for Eric in the short two weeks I spent with him on the Ben Stookesberry Alsececa expedition in Mexico (Hotel Charley: River of Doubt film). Look for Eric at Jackson Hole in the winter skiing with his extreme pro-skier fiancé, Jess, and then don’t expect to see him on the water near you, as he does a lot of his boating in places no kayaker has been before, along side of Ben. Welcome to the team Eric! Here is what Eric says about Eric (written in third party) After graduating from Western State College in 2001, Eric has traveled the world in search of whitewater first descents, while trying to capture that magical shot on video or stills. Eric has produced and worked as the principle videographer for four films and has paddled in 8 kayak movies. Eric lives in Ashland, OR in the summertime where he raft guides on the Upper Klamath, Cal Salmon, and the Rogue. Ashland puts Eric 10 miles from the California border where the rivers and granite bedrock are endless. You can find Eric kayaking in the Sierra’s in the spring and in the winter or fall traveling to some remote location to kayak and shoot video or stills. Eric resides in Jackson, WY in the winter where he has discovered the endless skiing opportunities the backcountry of the Tetons provide. Eric says: I love kayaking with a camera between my legs. Wow, that kind of sounds phallic doesn’t it. But seriously, as co-founder of the No Big Names series, I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved. Being able to share the places we have gone with other people is incredible. We have been finalists in the Banff National film festival multiple times. Increasing awareness of rivers and locations have always been the goals of our film company, while safely running the hardest whitewater. Clear H2O Films meshes perfectly with Jackson Kayaks. I am excited about the opportunity to paddle Jackson Kayaks. EJ’s vision on kayaking and his company should help make the world a better place. His safety features for the Rocker series are setting a new precedence for creek boats. Jackson Kayaks stewardship for the rivers and environmental ethics are creating new standards in the industry. Kayaking is all about having fun and with Jackson Kayaks technology; paddling is easier, a bit safer, more comfortable (I’m 6’4”), and this equates to more fun. See you on the river or the slopes, Eric Seymour Hotel Charley Section Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
