Cascades 2018 by sagedonnelly | May 30, 2018 | Creeking, Event Coverage, Events, rivers, Video, Whitewater, Wrap Ups, WW Disciplines | 0 comments My adventures didn’t stop after Tuck Fest- the next weekend, I was driving down to the Nantahala Outdoor Center for its yearly spring fling. Marcus, Kenny, Zuav, and I all crowded into my tiny Subaru to make the three hour drive after our morning slalom session. We made it down to NOC just in time for the 8 ball race where I zoomed passed everyone in my speedy Nirvana to grab the gold against all the boys! It was awesome to have that boat in action showing just how easily it can dodge and weave through things, but also can run everything over that it wants to! Seriously, the 8 ballers turned into speed bumps (sorry guys)! We then grabbed dinner and crashed for the night to rest up for Cascades laps the following day (thank you Tad for the cabin!). The next morning, we all got early and were on the water as soon as it turned on. It was super fun to huck some clean fun ten foot boots over and over! We got in five sweet laps before calling it a day before the river got to crowded. We then drove home for more slalom training, but the weekend get away was an awesome break from training and I can’t wait to head back! Check out a video I threw together of all of our laps! (Me orange boat, Marcus black boat, Kenny pink boat, and Tad blue boat!) Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
