On Sunday, September 8, 2019 many community members and local leaders came together to celebrate the official opening of Carter County’s first pocket park. Green Bridge Landing is the new park on the Doe River in Hampton, TN across the highway from Hampton High School.

The park is serving as a river access place for whitewater paddlers to take-out from the Doe Gorge section (Class III-IV) and put-in for the Lower Doe run (Class II-III). The park also hosts several nice amenities the general public can enjoy at this peaceful spot where the Little Doe confluences with the Doe River: parking area, stairway to river level, picnic table, walking path (7 laps for a mile), wood benches, bear proof trash receptacle, green bridge inspired changing house, river launch/landing, & natural beach for river play. There is also talk by many local fishermen that it is a great fishing spot!
