Position:Customer Service Representative – Jackson Kayak Gearhead

Hours: Monday through Friday

Job Type: Full-time – Hourly

Reports to: Customer Service Lead.

Customer service is not a department — it’s an adventure!  We figure out how to fix things that are broken, create tools to enhance our efficiency, showcase our smarts on video, help plan events, and even take our show on the road.  Oh yeah – we also take orders, answer questions, and resolve issues for customers too! It isn’t enough to just be polite and talk to customers, you must be willing to step in and do whatever it takes wherever it is needed to make things happen.  Teamwork is critical and anything less is unacceptable.

General Responsibilities:

Continuously increase value by providing outstanding customer service and sales support to our dealers, consumers, and internal team members.

Qualifications

  • Tech Savvy
    • Experienced with CRM type systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Google sheets

    • Have a good sense of humor and be generally upbeat
  • Excellent Oral, written, and in person communication skills. must possess diplomacy and tact.

  • Ability to work under pressure with limited resources, completing priorities and deadlines

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service and sales support
    • Answer phone calls within 3 rings.
    • Input orders accurately into system.
    • Perform account maintenance.
    • Confirm preseason orders.
    • Answer Info, Live Chat and Warranty E-mails.
    • Process, and communicate order revisions and cancellations through to completion.
    • Perform Administrative tasks and projects as assigned
    • Work with the Sales and Marketing team to support the Sales strategies of the company.
    • Collaborate with the Customer Service team to continually refine our processes and service strategies for ongoing improvement.
    • Support the Shipping team during inventory and seasonal ebb and flow.
    • Attend shows and events as needed to promote product lines.
  • Dependable resource for all customers (dealers and consumers)
    • Understand and effectively communicate accurate information about our programs, products, and services to customers via phone and email.
    • Continually strive to become more knowledgeable about the industry and the related sports
  • Effectively communicate information throughout company
    • Create reports as needed and necessary to support our teams.
    • Provide accurate detailed information through the processes and systems currently in place to provide timely feedback on preseason orders, changes, or cancellations.

Required Skills for a Gearhead Position:

Gearheads at Jackson Kayak are part problem solver, part psychic, part action hero-just ask our consumers!

  • Previous kayak or similar building experience
  • High degree of comfort with tools and building processes, must be mechanically inclined.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: Ability to “see” and translate issues from basic descriptions to solutions and parts for consumer orders
  • Potential to react quickly to live chat correspondence as needed.
  • Strong retention skills for part numbers and processes
  • On water experience with a variety of our products on an ongoing basis

Physical Demands

Able to lift 50 lbs consistently for events and shows.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
