How to get multiple uses from a tube of Aquaseal by Clay Wright | Feb 22, 2022 | Creeking, Instructional, jacksonkayak.com, JAdventures Main Banner, Playboating, Whitewater, Whitewater Feature, Whitewater Instruction, WW Disciplines | 2 comments I love the water – but I hate leaky stuff. That’s why I paddle a Jackson Kayak – and make sure to get quality skirts and gear to top it off. I stay vigilant patching small pin-holes in my outerwear, to keep my fleece dry and my boat nice and light for hours at a time. I keep a usable tube of aqua seal on hand at all times, so when I feel that cold rush at my elbow or shoulder, I can find and repair the pin-hole before my next shuttle. So I need to take care of any tube of Aquaseal I use..or the whole thing will go hard between uses. Here’s my current best strategy – nail, electric tape, and freezer – I hope it helps you get more from each tube as well. Check out this video to see how. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aL3E6tgfyE Clay Wright 2 Comments Jean Wilson on February 22, 2022 at 3:02 pm Great tips, Clay!! 👍🏽👍🏽 Reply Nate on February 22, 2022 at 3:29 pm Nice, Klay! I use the freezer too. Also I’ve found that if I put a piece of Saran Wrap or waxed paper over the tip like a gasket and then screw on the cap, it seems to lengthen the time you get before the aqua seal dries up in the tube.
