I live in southwest Missouri, and I grew up fishing rivers in canoes and flatbottom boats. Around 10 years ago I bought my first kayak. Since then, I’ve been addicted to kayak fishing. I didn’t specifically target bass until about 5 years ago when I was invited to do a river tournament. I did terrible! However, I was addicted and was driven to figure out how to successfully target bass. It’s been an amazing evolution in the gear I use, and the style in which I fish. One constant stood out in all my experimenting; and that was the functionality of Jackson Kayaks. In 2020 I was the most improved angler, and in 2021 won Angler of the Year for Ozark Rivers Angler Tournament Trail (ORATT). I have won several big bass and top 5 finishes along the way. I have qualified for the All-American Classic the previous three years. I fish several waterways, but my love is the river! Whether it’s a tournament, a fun day on the river, or and overnight trip camping on a gravel bar with friends, that truly is my happy place.
My wife and I met a few years ago and share the love of kayak fishing. We are working on starting a family of anglers. If I had to call out one amazing thing in this sport, it would be the people that I have in my life. I have very dear friends, from all over this country. They are family, and I wouldn’t have met them if it wasn’t for this amazing sport that we do!
