I’m Trey Potts born and raised in the small farm town of Prescott, WA. located in the southeast corner of Washington State. My passion for fishing and the outdoors, started before I was walking and talking. thanks to my dad and grandpa’s. When asked they will proudly calm that they created a fishing monster, to which my family and friends commonly joke that I was born with a rod in my hand. As a young child they would hold me in their lap. teaching me to cast, tie hooks, rig baits and reel in fish. Before the age of one I had caught my first Smallmouth bass. It was clear then that fishing, being on the water, and in the outdoors would become a part of my life. This would also lead to dreams of competing in fishing tournaments. Any chance I got with them we would be fishing, or even practice fishing. whether that was practicing from the loft in my grandpa’s house, the staircase in my parent’s house or from the boat parked in the garage. If we were together, we were fishing. or I was bugging them to go fishing. Leading us to make memories that will last a lifetime. Although I can never say no to chasing anything with gills and fins. Bass fishing would take the greatest hold on me, and where I would dedicate the most time to. Even though I’ve been fishing for all my life. I’ve only been kayaking fishing for roughly 10 years now. Being able to expand my reach to the small ponds and rivers lit an even bigger passion that I have for fishing and allows me to explore more of our waterways in the state. that same passion that would fuel the fire to follow my childhood dreams of competing in fishing tournaments. Tournament fishing has challenged my skills and grown my knowledge of bass fishing in the lakes and rivers of not only my home state but the states that surround me. bringing me opportunities to meet some fantastic people in the fishing and kayaking community. As I continue my kayak fishing journey, I am excited to continue to meet like minded anglers and kayakers in the kayaking world. I hope to expand the sport and love that I have of fishing and for the water to those interested of learning to fish and kayak. So, they too can create memories with those they care about that will last their lifetime. I also plan to continue my tournament journey to compete nationwide.
