Rudy Yarworth (Kayak Rudy) Marine Corps Veteran | Kayak Angler | Community Leader
For me, fishing has always been more than a hobby; it is a passion and a way to lose myself in nature. A Maryland native and Marine Corps Veteran, I have spent my entire life in, on, or around the water. Growing up around the Chesapeake Bay, I challenged myself to fish every fishery the region had to offer.
My journey into kayak fishing officially began in 2013 when, inspired by a TV show, I traded my canoe for a fishing kayak. I sought out an American-made family business with roots in Maryland, leading me to purchase my first Jackson Kayak—a Big Tuna—in early 2014. That boat allowed me to paddle lakes, float rivers, and share the experience with my kids, confirming immediately that I had made the right decision.
Community Service Today, I channel that passion into community service as the Chapter Coordinator and Guide for Heroes on the Water – Pine Creek PA Chapter. I am also honored to join the Jackson Kayak Regional Fishing team, representing a brand that has been a part of my family’s life for over a decade.
Life on the Water My love for the sport and Jackson Kayaks runs so deep that my wife once jokingly noted I spent too much time with my Kraken 15.5 and Coosa kayaks that in 2017 after moving from the mountains to a waterman’s village on the Tangier Sound, we added a new member to our family a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, fittingly named 'Jaxon'.
I look forward to sharing future adventures and fish stories. Keep chasing those sunsets!
