My name is Jodi McGreggor and I am a resident of beautiful San Luis Obispo county located along the California Coast.
I grew up bass fishing along the shores of Lake Cachuma, Casitas, and Piru. My favorite memories will always be getting dropped off with a rod, some tackle, and a dream of catching that big fish. My parents to this day joke and tell me that it was cheap babysitting. They never knew that the “cheap babysitter” would lead to a passion that would shape the rest of my life.
I started my kayak fishing adventures 10 years ago when I first paddled out to Arco Island searching for Calico bass. After that paddle, I was hooked! Over the last 6 years I shifted my focus to the kayak fishing world. Being a multi species anglerette has allowed me to fish different bodies of water growing my passion and expanding my knowledge. You will often find me kayak fishing the California coastline in my bright green/ pink Jackson Cruise FD ( named The Unicorn Fart), fly fishing our local lakes, or just out for a nice paddle
7 years ago I was in a bad fishing accident that severely injured my back and shoulder. I have recovered as much as my body will allow me but still have physical limitations. I wasn’t ready to give up the reason I wake up every morning…..to go fishing. The Jackson FD system has made it so I can still kayak fish and fish successfully. I am beyond thankful to the Jackson family for keeping me on the water and keeping my dreams alive.
Why do you fish: I fish to challenge myself every time I hit the water. I fish to gain knowledge, grow my fishing family, explore new places, and most importantly…to have fun! So….... Why do you fish?
